LAST FIRST KISS is an Americana, country, and bluegrass duo built on deep musical roots, lived experience, and a shared love for timeless songs. Blending tradition with raw, modern energy, the duo delivers heartfelt performances that honor the past while feeling fully alive in the present.
Fronting the band is lead vocalist Sheryl Bard, daughter of legendary Ohio bluegrass musician Frank Bard, whose influence and legacy loom large in the Midwest roots music scene. Frank Bard was a respected figure in traditional bluegrass, known for preserving the genre’s storytelling spirit and passing its values down through generations. Music runs even deeper in Sheryl’s bloodline—her grandmother was an accordionist in the Ohio gospel group The Glory Land Travelers, bringing sacred harmonies and gospel tradition into the family’s musical foundation. Raised among bluegrass standards, gospel songs, and front-porch harmonies, Sheryl Bard carries forward a multigenerational American music legacy with a voice steeped in authenticity and soul.
On guitar and backing vocals is Ed Solis, a versatile and seasoned musician known locally as the founder and bassist of The Rumrunners Southern Rock Experience. Formed at Bogart’s, The Rumrunners quickly rose through the Southern California music scene, performing at prominent venues including The Gaslamp and The Garden Amp
, earning a reputation for high-energy, roots-driven live shows.
Solis brings a uniquely broad musical background to LAST FIRST KISS. Deeply rooted in the hardcore punk and crossover thrash metal scenes, he co-founded the band Revolution Mother alongside professional skateboarding legend Mike Vallely. From 2005–2007, the band completed three national North American tours, including a run as direct support for CKY, cementing Solis’s experience as a touring musician on major stages.
As a recording artist and producer, Solis has released 10 full-length studio albums, available on all major digital platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music, under the band names It’s Casual, Niños De La Tierra, and Matador. Producing and performing on every release, Solis has established himself as a skilled sonic architect with a sharp ear for tone, arrangement, and emotional impact.
Together, Sheryl Bard and Ed Solis unite tradition and edge, lineage and life experience, to perform country, bluegrass, and Americana classics under the name LAST FIRST KISS. Their music speaks to back roads, front porches, hard lessons, and lasting love—songs meant to be felt as much as they are heard.
LAST FIRST KISS is where generations meet, roots run deep, and American music lives on.
