Music by Natalie Jacob

Natalie Jacob is a native Angelino who has been singing since she was three years old. She has had the privilege to sing with the Scotty Barnhart quintet, the Paul McDonald Big Band and the Shea Welsh Trio; and has shared the stage with such illustrious musicians as Clayton CameronJames LearyRoy McCurdy and Trevor Ware. Having developed a passion for Brazilian music in her youth, Natalie seized the opportunity to join the Long Beach-based Latin jazz band, Along for the Ride, with whom she recorded the album, Jobim and Vinicius Across Languages in 2015. Her unmistakable sultry sound on this album is complimented by world renowned musicians, Abraham Laboriel and Justo Almario. From 2007 to 2010, she was the lead singer with Bluenova, a jazz quintet playing bossa nova, Latin jazz, blues and a splash of world music. Venues where she has performed include The Gardenia and Genghis Cohen in Hollywood, Pip’s on La Brea in Los Angeles, Alva’s Showroom in San Pedro, The Sky Room in Long Beach, The Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica, and The Culver Hotel in Culver City.  Natalie has studied vocal technique with award-winning pianist, Tamir Hendleman, the legendary Marilyn Maye and the multi-talented vocalist, Cathy Segal-Garcia.  She also studied sacred music and has her certification from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as a cantor for Catholic liturgies.  She regularly sings at Sunday liturgies, weddings, funerals, and other services at several Catholic churches in Los Angeles.  Natalie’s warm inviting vocals have been influenced Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole, Sarah Vaughn, Sara Gazarek, Diana Krall, Linda Ronstadt, Téka Penteriche, Eliane Elias, and Bebel Gilberto.
