Tonight we will start with close-up views of a first quarter moon. Craters, mountains and "seas" on the surface are beautiful and inspiring. Next we will take a close look at the giant planets Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter’s clouds bands and Galilean moons are always a fascinating. Saturn is always a treat with it’s stunning rings and up to five moons visible! Also in view will be sparkling star clusters, double stars and maybe even a galaxy. Many wonders await your discovery at the eyepiece of powerful telescopes provided by our hardworking volunteer astronomers
If you have a telescope, please feel free to bring it to Astronomy Night. You don’t have to be an expert and it's rewarding to share anything you know with someone else. The star parties are great for kids of all ages and best of all provide serious entertainment at an unbeatable price. (Free, that is!)
